Formed in 2014, NCCAT is comprised of three Primary Academies. There are two good/outstanding schools and one new sponsored Academy which opened in September 2014. In July 2015 Gail Khan Associates were engaged to conduct a review of governance across the Trust.

There were three core aims; to remove duplication, ensure compliance and make sure that Senior Leaders, Governors and Trustees are being as effective and efficient as possible.

Roles were redefined across the Members, Trustees and Governing Bodies and new Articles of Association were drafted to reflect the different composition of the Trust Board.

Alongside the new Articles, Gail Khan Associates created terms of reference for all layers of governance including relevant committees and a new scheme of delegation for the Trust. In Easter 2016 the new structures and systems were implemented.

Jan Drinkall, Chief Executive

Gail Khan Associates were fantastic. They understood our challenge and what we needed to achieve. Our consultant Gail Khan made things much easier for our team, talking our language and keeping things simple and fit for purpose. The end result has meant a significant reduction in the level of duplication across the Trust. We now have the right people, in the right place, all delivering their respective roles and responsibilities effectively. We are really looking forward to seeing the benefits of the new structures and systems over the coming months and years.
