GKA Supports Five Schools in Forming New Multi-Academy Trust
On March 1st, Gail Khan Associates (GKA) proudly celebrated the successful formation of the Industrious Education Trust, a new Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) that brings together five primary schools in Kirklees. Ashbrow School, Birkby Junior School, Dalton School, Mill Lane Primary School, and Moldgreen Community Primary School have officially united under the new Trust, marking an exciting new chapter for education in the region.
Gail Khan Associates played an instrumental role in the creation of the Industrious Education Trust, providing comprehensive project management support to the senior leadership teams throughout the process. From the outset, GKA worked closely with the schools to navigate the complex requirements involved in setting up a new MAT, ensuring that every detail was meticulously addressed.
A Collaborative Effort for Success
The project began with GKA’s support in developing the application to the Department for Education (DfE) and facilitating the creation of the Trust’s vision and values. Through strategic coordination, GKA ensured that all stakeholders, including school staff, parents, and the wider community, were engaged in the consultation process, making sure their voices were heard and incorporated into the Trust’s framework.
Gail Khan said: “Creating a new MAT is an intricate process, but we were committed to supporting the schools every step of the way. Our team worked alongside the senior leaders to make their vision a reality, ensuring everything from governance structures to staffing frameworks met the specific needs of the new Trust.”
GKA’s expertise also extended to guiding the schools through the legal and financial complexities of forming a MAT. This involved ensuring that the governance structures were put in place, the staffing arrangements were aligned with the new structure, and that the Trust was fully prepared to operate effectively from day one.
A Bright Future for Kirklees Schools
The formation of the Industrious Education Trust is a significant milestone for the five schools involved. By coming together under one shared vision, they aim to provide an inclusive and high-quality education for every child, with a focus on creating equal opportunities and fostering academic excellence.
The Industrious Education Trust is poised to make a lasting impact on education in Kirklees, and the schools are now better equipped to tackle the challenges of the future, with a unified approach that ensures the needs of every student are met.
